What it looks like on the other side

Nothing new to learn. Your guest just talks.

Do they need an app?

No. No app, no extension, no account. They stay in the same call and hear the translation there.

Won't a bot look weird?

It shows up as "Akume Translator", so it's clear what it is. Give people a heads-up with one line:

I've added a translator so we can each speak our own language.

How does the voice sound?

A natural voice, not a robot reading text. It plays right in the call, and subtitles run alongside, so nothing gets missed.

How fast is it?

Our translation engine responds in under a second once the speaker finishes a phrase. Close enough for a normal back-and-forth.

What happens to the conversation?

Audio is translated as it arrives, and no recording is kept after the call. Subtitles stay in your account, and support deletes them on request. Connections are encrypted.

On Zoom, the host is asked to allow recording when the translator joins. It needs that to hear the call; the recording isn't kept.

The listener link: voice and subtitles in any browser, no account needed.

Measured, not just promised

Akume runs on the Palabra.ai speech engine. Here's how it scores in public benchmarks and what people who use it say.

What customers say about the Akume engine

What happens to your call

Audio is translated as it streams and isn't kept after the call. Subtitles stay in your account, and we delete them on request. Connections are encrypted.

On Zoom, the host is asked to allow recording when the translator joins. It needs that to hear the call; the recording isn't kept.

Benchmarks, minute and country counts, and quotes come from Palabra.ai and Talo, which run on the same engine. They describe the engine, not Akume's own customers.

Is there a free trial?

There's a free live demo: in the signup quiz you can talk to Akume for about a minute, no account or card needed. To use it in your own calls, start with an intro: a few days with translation minutes, then the plan you choose. The exact offer and price are shown at checkout, in your local currency where available.

Does the other person need to install anything?

No. Akume Translator joins the call like any guest. They hear the translation right in the call and can open the listener link in a browser for subtitles or another language.

Which platforms does it work with?

Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, on desktop and mobile. Paste the meeting link and the translator joins. It doesn't work for phone calls, WhatsApp, live streams or in-person conversations.

How many languages?

60+ languages, including regional variants. Each call runs with 2 to 10 of them, and Akume detects who's speaking which.

How are minutes counted?

The language being spoken is not counted, so each minute of the call uses one minute fewer than the number of languages selected. A 30-minute call in two languages uses 30 minutes, in three languages 60. With two languages, each intro minute covers about one minute of the call.

What happens after the intro?

If you don't cancel, your plan starts when the intro ends and renews each period with a new minute allowance, at the price shown at checkout. Cancel any time in Account Settings › Manage billing.

Is my call recorded?

Audio is translated live and not kept after the call. Subtitles stay in your account; write to support@akume.ai to have them deleted. On Zoom the host is asked to allow recording because the translator needs it to hear the call; the recording still isn't kept.

How accurate is it?

Accurate enough for real conversations: sales calls, interviews, family chats. In an April 2026 benchmark the engine behind Akume averaged a 2.4% word error rate. For legal or medical decisions, treat it as a helper and confirm key details, just as you would with any interpreter.

Can I use it for a webinar or big meeting?

Yes, as a regular Zoom, Meet or Teams meeting. Up to 500 people can follow on the listener link, each in their own language. Zoom Webinar isn't supported.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes, in a couple of clicks in Account Settings › Manage billing. You keep your minutes until the end of the period.
