Privacy and data protection
What Akume processes during a call, what is never kept afterwards, and where the binding policy lives.
Translation happens live. Audio from your meeting is turned into speech and captions in the moment, and no recording is kept once the call ends. There is no recording sitting on a server after the call.
Meeting audio
- Live audio is translated as it arrives and is not kept after the call ends: the meeting-bot provider runs in zero-data-retention mode and no meeting recording is retained.
- Captions from your meetings are stored in the account that ran the session. While the session is running, anyone who has the listener link can read them; afterwards only that account can, by opening the session’s listener link while signed in. Keep the link, because the app does not show it once the session has ended, captions are not listed alongside the meetings in the history view, and the page also reports that the live session is over. To have captions removed, write to support@akume.ai from the email address on the account.
- Connections are encrypted in transit.
Account and payment data
- Account details (your name, email, and the settings you pick) are used to run the service and to support you.
- Card details are handled by our payment processor. Card numbers never reach Akume’s servers; what comes back is the card type and the last four digits.
- Device and usage information is processed to keep the service working, as described in the Privacy Policy.
What reaches Google
- To set up the audio connection, the listener page asks a Google STUN server (stun.l.google.com) which public address your browser is reachable at, so Google receives the IP address of your device. No audio and no captions pass through it.
Everyone can see the translator
Akume joins as a visible participant and appears in the participant list, so nobody is translated without the translator being there in plain sight. Telling participants what is running (and obtaining their agreement where local rules require it) remains the meeting organizer’s responsibility; the captions from the call are kept in the account that ran it.
Your rights
The Privacy Policy is the authoritative document: it lists the categories of personal data collected, who they are shared with, how long they are kept, and the rights available to you, including access, correction, deletion, and portability for users in the EU and the UK. The Terms of Use cover how the service may be used.
To exercise a privacy right, or to ask what is held about your account, write to support@akume.ai from the email address on the account.
